Sizzling in August with the Arts
Artists-Writers Summer Camp Review: The Carl Luck Library, of the City of San Juan Bautista, and Credo Studio's Visual Arts Director, Darlene Boyd and Founder, Ramona Hill joined up to present a community summer camp for some of the youth of SJB and San Benito County this year. The children were expertly lead through watercolor painting about the weather and then read excellent literature and did word searches for language to describe each weather phenomenon. These processes resulted in illustrated poems to publish and share. Each camper was able to create and bind an original book of their work. Soon an anthology of these efforts will be available at the Carl Luck Library. Parents and the public were invited to partake in the Artists - Authors sharing time right after camp ended, Friday, June 30. Survey requests indicated a large interest by campers in pursuing visual art and painting processes. Parents longed for a an extended camp time.
Artists - Writers Workshop Approx. Time: 8 to 12 lessons of 90 to 120 min.
