The reasons we are doing this are clear:
● Art improves reading and math proficiency.
● Art increases parent/teacher involvement and student engagement; creates a positive culture and climate; and provides a richer overall experience in extended learning time.
● Art enhances critical thinking strategies and develops 21st-century skills like problem solving, collaboration, communication and life-long learning.
STE-Art-M (Science, Technology, Engineering, ART, Math) sessions cover the visual arts components of color, form, line, shape texture, and value. They may be two-or three-dimensional, descriptive, implied, or abstract. Participants will be guided to apply creative problem solving processes to science, social studies, math, and literacy. Participants may be encouraged to work in small multi-aged groups to research, create, revise and competently present their explorations.
Cost: $130 per participant for each 4 week session, payable in advance. Plus materials fees applicable to chosen specific projects.
